Things I Can't Do....
yet. Maybe I'm just stupid, but....I haven't been able to do these things yet:
1. Post a picture of myself next to my profile
2. Post a list of my links
3. When referring to an URL somewhere else, create an underlined reference to it which you can just click on
4. Post music to my blog
5. Create my own background for my blog
6. Make a bold print on my posts when I want to emphasize something
7. Think like a Liberal "Leftie"
Here is picture of myself I want next to my profile. Pretty hot eh?

Gabrielle: I've learned almost everything by trial&error as well. First thing, are you on the new beta-version? If not, when you first log in, check for a link that allows you to convert to the newer version, this is way more user-friendly than the original. Once you're in the beta-version, the customize area will allow you to do things easier. You'll see 'add a page element' click on that and all kinds of options will open up. Start with that, than myself and others can pinpoint other things you can do. Good luck.
p.s. in regard to thinking like a 'leftie' my only recommendation is a lobotomy; but I'm not sure where to get one, check out the local chapter of the Democratic National Committee, I think they do them free of charge.
LOL! king david!
Gabrielle, to bold anything in your post simply put a b inside these < >. At the end of the statement you want to bold put the same little arrows, only with a slash and a b like this /b to close the tag. Music is tough to post. I had music for a while and blogger shut it down. Most blog sites have problems with music because of copyright laws these days.
Thank you trailady
Good job Gabrielle, looks like you've gone to the new version. In the customize area, you can move the different page elements around simply by clicking and grabbing, then move them around. So, if you want your favorites above the archives, just drag that box above the other. When your posting, the toolbox at the top is just like like Word: you can bold, change font sizes, one of the icons is for hyperlinking url's to the piece you have highlighted, etc. You don't have your title back on, go to settings and then into the publishing or formatting tab, something like that. You're on your way.
Never mind the last part of my message, now I see your title, it wasn't there a minute ago when I first came on. Looking good.
Thanks kingdavid. By the way, what happened to your name above your cooments, which changed to anon. and where is your own blog, which would interest me.
Not sure why my comments went to anonymous during your conversion. I'm at www.thefarwright.blogspot.com.
If you click on the highlighted names in your comments, it will take you to that persons profile page, and then you can select their blog. Like trailady. I'm gonna look up her blog site when I'm done with this.
Dear king,
I have done as you said, but alas...! I was in Safari and the add image feature for the top of my blog didn't work, so I went to Firefox and it still didn't work. Still can't get a pic of myself posted to the intro to myself. Also, I did click on your underlined kingdavid but nothing came up when I was in Safari. Now I found your blog and have bookmarked it.
Gabrielle,
I use picasa (google owns it) to post photos. You can post you profile pic there and then enter the link in your settings.
The Picasa application does not support OSX, but picasa has an iPhoto plugin that works marvelous!

Gabrielle you have my list!
When you get it all figured out, would you teach me, all except for the lobotomy thing.
OK Rose. That was funny!
thanks to kingdavid, and switching to beta, but also switching to Firefox as my server(right term?) I now have the set of tools that is in Word, as you said, so you can see I now can do the boldening, the URL link and the italics that I wanted. But the add page element feature just isn't working. It uploads just as when posting a pic to a post, but the thing that circles around the triangle with an exclamation point just keeps circling and never downloads the pic. Ach. Ach.
Donny, I tried what you said. I saved a pic to a post as a draft, but the HTML offered no option to transfer a pic to my profile. Thanks anyway for all your help. And trailady, you can also do the bold print in beta more easily.
Oh yeh, and as you can see, I have been able to post my links too. I just can't get the pic on my profile, or do a personalized background. Also, Kev has a Caedmon's call song on his blog, and I want to do that, to make available my current favorite song.
I'll prbably have to resort to getting a 10 year old genius again to explain it to me.
