The film surfaced in the same year (2004) that I went searching for wild horses in South Dakota and Wyoming. I found them in south Dakota near Hot Springs, SD. There is a sanctuary for them. They actually become rather tame there because they become familiar with humans feeding them. They are kept until they are OOOOOOld and bending over almost dead - very sweet. Kindness to animals!
The movie's story line is almost identitcal to Secondhand Lions. A boy is dropped off with some eccentric relatives due to unusual circumstances, and they learn stuff. Sweet sweet film - this one is Canadian - set in one of Canada's wildlife reserves. 2002.
